Care instructions for synthetic wigs
- + Gently comb your wig with a wide-tooth comb to remove any tangles.
- + Fill the basin with COLD water (do NOT use hot water as heat may damage the wig).
- + Mix a small capful of shampoo into the water (use a mild, ideally paraben and sulphate-free shampoo, or our recommended product).
- + Immerse your wig and swish it through the water gently for a couple of minutes.
- + Rinse your wig in a fresh basin of cold water to remove shampoo.
- + Place the wig between a folded towel and pat dry. Do NOT squeeze, rub or wring your wig while drying.
- + Spray hair with the specially formulated Jon Renau Leave-In Conditioner Treatment. Avoid spraying it on the knot area, as this may loosen the knots.
- + Gently shake the wig to restore its style. Do not brush or comb the wig while it is wet.
- + Place the wig on a wig stand, over the mouth of a large jar, or over the showerhead to dry naturally. Do not use a solid headstand more than 20.5 inches in diameter as it may stretch the wig cap.
- + NEVER use a hairdryer, straighteners or any heated tools, on regular synthetic fibres as heat can damage the wig fibres.
- + Once the wig is completely dry, it is ready to be combed and worn!
Tips to keep your wig looking fabulous
- + Limit washing your synthetic wig to a maximum of once every 2-3 weeks.
- + Avoid using hair spray. Instead, opt for styling products specifically designed for synthetic wigs.
- + Never use a hair dryer or straightener, as high direct heat can damage non-heat-friendly synthetic hair. Be cautious around hot ovens while cooking to prevent heat exposure.
- + A clothing steamer is an excellent tool for preventing synthetic fibres from becoming too dry and for helping to style the hair into place.
